Movie Tavern began in 2001, and its goal was to offer an excellent “dinner and a movie” experience for its patrons. That means state-of-the-art movie technology with good food and drinks. It grew bigger, and then it was acquired by VSS-Southern Theaters (which also owns The Grand Theatres and AmStar Cinemas).
Movie Tavern has expanded to about 30 theatres in 10 states all across the US. Each of these theatres offer the high-quality movie watching experience that most moviegoers expect these days.

All the Movie Tavern cinemas offer all-digital projection, for both 2D and 3D movies. Of course, the audio system is just as advanced. Together, they work to provide a satisfyingly immersive moviegoing experience. Patrons don’t just watch a movie—it feels like they’re in the movie.
Amenities
The “taverns” in these theatres offer delicious meals and great drinks, including margaritas. In some places, they even offer breakfast items for early morning shows. That means you can get bacon, eggs, and fresh pancakes, to go with coffee. If you want, you can get a Bloody Mary or a mimosa for breakfast.
The Premier Full-Service is a real treat, though the counter service isn’t all that bad. Counter Service is available in the Original locations. You order and pay at the lobby.
The Premium service is, however, is something else. The in-cinema staff can get your order, and your food and drinks are delivered to your seat. You can even call the servers for more snacks in the middle of the movie!
